The Crew

John Fleming and Helen Fleming (née Johnston), who have sailed together for 26 years, firstly in John's 31 foot Buchanan-designed Viking wooden sloop, Vandevoe, and more recently in Flame of Gosport.

We kept Vandevoe in the Solent, and cruised in her to the West Country, North and South Brittany, Biscay down to La Rochelle and once from Falmouth to the Azores and back (before the days of GPS, or even Decca).

Since buying Flame of Gosport in Greece in 1991, we have sailed in the Aegean and Mediterranean, cruising the Turkish coast from Kusadasi to the border with Syria, and visiting Cyprus, Syria and the Lebanon.
